APPLICATION & INTERVIEW GUIDANCE

Every applicant’s profile is judged holistically to obtain a more rounded picture of their strengths. However, there are some qualities listed below that most competitive applicants have displayed in the past.

ANALYTICAL / PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS

The analytical and problem-solving skills of our consultants are the driving force behind the success of our projects and 100% client satisfaction rate; therefore, we actively seek out applicants with the most creative and innovative solutions to problems they face.

TEAMWORK & LEADERSHIP

The majority of work at 180 Degrees Consulting is conducted in a team setting. To ensure the highest quality, we look for applicants who have experience in leadership roles and have thrived in team settings.

ARTICULATION & PROFESSIONALISM

Members of our branch are expected to meet with their clients' senior management throughout the semester; therefore, we seek applicants who are able to articulate complex concepts clearly and present themselves in a professional manner.

ORGANIZATIONAL INTEREST

180 Degrees Consulting is united in our passion for the work that we provide. We seek a new generation of members who are eager to contribute to our mission and take our organization to new heights for our members and clients.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

I applied to 180DC in the past but was not accepted. Am I allowed to re-apply at some point in the future?

Yes. We recognize that the application process is competitive, and that your circumstances may change over time. Re-applying is an indicator of continued interest, and will therefore be judged as a positive rather than negative aspect of your application profile.

What is the weekly time commitment associated with being a Business Analyst for 180DC?

Roughly 5 hours per week. This includes organization-wide meetings, project group meetings, and any research/tasks Project Managers may assign to Business Analysts. There may be some variation depending on the stage of a project, however we are considerate about our members' academic commitments and strive to work around them. Our members have typically found it very manageable to accommodate this commitment alongside other academic and extra-curricular involvement.

Are the first/second round interviews behavioral, technical or case interview?

Both the first round and second round interviews will have aspects of all of the above three interview formats. Both interviews will have behavioral questions, market sizing estimations, and formal cases. For more information regarding the different types of interview formats, and how to prepare, please visit the "Interview Guidance" section of this website.

I am not pursuing a BBA through Ross. Am I still eligible to apply?

Absolutely. As mentioned in other sections of this website, diversity in major and expertise allows us to generate the most innovative, practical and sustainable solutions for our clients.

I am unable to attend the information session. Will this negatively impact my application?

No. We highly encourage applicants to attend the information session to learn more about the organization and network with some of our members, however if you are unable to make it, your application will not be evaluated differently.

I am a Freshman/Sophomore/Junior/Senior. Am I still eligible to apply?

We accept applications from Freshmen and Sophomores as we believe they will gain the most from this organization.
